    3. There has been a lot of bad news both at home and abroad so far this January and we are only one week into the New Year. I am particularly thinking of B & S list members who are living in Queensland, Australia, where there are terrible floods at the moment. I have corresponded with a number of you, over the years. The latest BBC news on the situation is here: Floods in Rockhampton - before and after: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12138010 Queensland floods: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12133867 -- Josephine Jeremiah www.ianandjo.dsl.pipex.com

    2. Let us not forget the people in Western Australia who also have major floods. When I posted about the Queensland floods, I was particularly thinking about B & S list members, living in Queensland, with whom I have corresponded about family history over a number of years. I don't think that the floods in Western Australia have been covered in the U.K. as much as the Queensland ones and, to my knowledge, I haven't corresponded with anyone from that area, although I do have correspondents in Perth including distant family members. Here is a BBC report from 20th. December 2010, which refers to the floods in Western Australia: Extreme weather hits parts of Australia http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12035944 -- Josephine Jeremiah www.ianandjo.dsl.pipex.com
