Deaths are supposed to be registered where they occurred. This is not always within the RD the deceased usually resided. Also, indexes held by GRO are subject to error and omission. Any one of these could explain why you can't find the records you seek. Finally, if you had included name(s), others here could cast there nets to see what turns up.
