    3. Hi I have JOHN WITHEY who was convicted of stabbing his wife Jane, in Bristol, and subsequently hanged. It was in the London Times, so quite a big story. I always felt with todays up to date detecting it would have been found to be an accident. So 3 children were left to fend for themselves. a sad story. Does this show up in this site? I've had a look at the 'rogues gallery' of prisoners on the Bath Ancestors database, this morning. For anyone who hasn't taken a look, yet, instructions on how to see all the 'prisoners' portraits' or search for an individual can be found on the following page. http://www.batharchives.co.uk/what_we_hold/records_for_family_history/bath_ancestors_database.aspx The photographs are fascinating.     3. Yes I had noted it was down by the docks.. that would be the area Mike as he was a sailor. Maybe they were staying at the Red Lion if number 12 is the same as was in 1852.
