    1. [B&S] JENKINS, tobacco pipe makers, Bristol Burgesses, 18th century
    2. Josephine Jeremiah
    3. Hi Listers, On 11th. February 2009, I responded to a B & S thread on the OKELY family and gave the information that John OKELY, tobacco pipe maker, was made a Bristol Burgess on 9th. March 1768 through his marriage to Elizabeth JENKINS, daughter of Bristol Burgess,Thomas JENKINS. Five years later, I have received an off-list query about Thomas JENKINS so I am sending further information to the list in case anyone can make a link either now or in the future. Thomas JENKINS, tobacco pipe maker, was made a Bristol Burgess on 26th. April 1733. His qualification to become a Bristol Burgess was through his marriage to Elizabeth, daughter of cooper, Thomas ANDREWS, who was a Bristol Burgess. Joseph JENKINS, tobacco pipe maker was made a Bristol Burgess on 9th. March 1768. His qualification to become a Bristol Burgess was because his father, Thomas JENKINS, tobacco pipe maker, was a Bristol Burgess. Information from the Bristol Burgess Books Vols. 1 to 21 Index & Transcriptions 1557-1995 produced by the Bristol & Avon Family History Society. www.bafhs.org.uk Josephine

In 1851, at Clement Street, Walcot, Bath, there was an Elizabeth MANSLOW/MONSLOW, aged 90, who was a visitor in the household of Esau WHEELER, 66, a tailor born in Calne. Mary WHEELER, aged 67, also born in Calne was in the same household. Elizabeth MANSLOW/MONSLOW was a gentlewoman and a retired grocer whose birthplace was Pipleton ?, Worcester. This could have been Peopleton in Worcestershire. 1. [B&S] WOOLDRIDGE Brian John - Born 1952 Bristol
    2. S Bedford
    3. I am trying to trace the whereabouts of Brian John Wooldridge who was born in 1952 in Bristol. Brian's family have no idea what happened to Brian since the 1970's / 80's and we hope that someone may be able to help? We have searched various different places for Brian, including the electoral roll, directory enquiries, a director search, marriage and death indexes, facebook, friends reunited, genes reunited, internet searching, Bristol coroner and are hoping the local paper will publish a letter requesting information soon. We have no idea if Brian is alive or dead, however it seems that he could be a member on genes reunited but hasn't replied to our messages. If anyone knows anything to help our search we would be extremely grateful. Many thanks!

    3. Hi Listers, I found this BBC article interesting: World War One: How did 12 million letters a week reach soldiers? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-25934407 It made me think of the letters and postcards that my own Bristol family sent to relatives serving abroad and those that were received. Some of the postcards, which were received, were handed down to me when I was young and I have since passed them on to a younger relative. Josephine
