Hello I am trying to find info on the good old Rev John Hey,(my 3ggrandfather)who came from Bristol(I believe) ,was married to a Ann(last name is not known) This Hey family came to PA in 1804 Rev HEY was responsible for the English settlement in PA He visited Avening to bring people over to the new colony So maybe there will be some kind of family records listed in with that church. His children were: Augustus Morrison Hey b. 5-27-1791 Amelia Hey(married Joshua Blackwell) George Hey Jabez Hey(he purchased land during the English settlement) Maria I know what became of most of them, after they came over in 1804, I am hoping to find out some info about them before they came over to America If anyone who has access to genealogy.com or ancestry.com and could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for you help Donna HEY Payne http://heydonna69.blogspot.com/ GENEALOGY RESEARCH BLOG

I've had a quick look at the BAFHS CDs for Bristol and there are no HEY baptisms or marriages that could fit. There was a marriage for a Rev Thomas HAY to an Ann BRAGG in 1788 in Mangotsfield. It could at a stretch be your man if he changed his given name and the spelling of his surname for some reason. A clergyman would know the way he usually spelled his name though. > If anyone who has access to genealogy.com or ancestry.com and could > help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Hello again Donna As I think you now know Rev. John HEY was the minister at the Castle Green Congregational Chapel in Bristol from Dec 1789 until his departure for the USA in 1804. Prior to 1789 he was a minister in Ringwood, Hampshire. It seems probable that some of his children were baptised in Bristol, possibly at his own chapel. The baptism records for the various non-conformist churches in Bristol, including Castle Green ( 1784 to 1837) are available on a CD from the Bristol & Avon Family History Society. If you go to their website you should be able to find the CD details. Not quite what you are looking for but it might help.
