    3. Oh my goodness, that is such sad news. Thank you, Charani, for letting us know. Lee was my first cousin - our grandmothers were sisters - hers being the 4th of 12 siblings, and mine the last. I found the family connection with Lee almost as soon as I started looking into my family history, through her wonderful posts here (thank goodness for the Rootsweb search facility). She had done so much research into the various branches of her family tree that she already had me on it! So, when I contacted her, it was perhaps not as great a surprise for her as it was for me to discover I had a cousin on the other side of the world... I am so pleased now that we met in person soon after that, at the 2008 Bunfight, and I took her back to her hotel after the lunch so we were able to have a long chat, as if we'd known each other for years. We kept in regular touch since then, and I was a little concerned when I didn't hear anything from her after the end of October last year, until January when she explained that she'd been in hospital for 6 weeks and had several operations to remove a tumour, but those seemed to have been successful and she sounded very cheery. My last email from her was exactly a month ago and she didn't mention any recurrence, so this news is somewhat unexpected. I had only known Lee a short while but she was a really lovely person and will be sadly missed.
