Hello everyone...I hope you've all had a good Easter break and are now getting back to research. While trying to find another interesting location for a bunfight, I decided to try the Salt House at Clevedon. This is an ideal location with masses of car park...I should know, I was at school only yards away! As I'm hoping to go to Australia in October, the weekend that best suits me for a Bunfight is 2nd October. October can be beautiful weather, an Indian Summer, the kids are back at school, students are at Uni so it should be lovely and peaceful. The restaurant/pub are very happy to accommodate us, they have free WiFi for us and I'm assured that mobile phones (if necessary) or dongles will work indoors. I was a little concerned about that as they are so close to the coast. They have also told me that they have a large collection of historic photos adorning their walls and they have had members of the public recognising relations on the photos. Please let me know if there is any interest for this particular weekend so that I can go ahead and plan. If you would prefer a different date please let me know - I can't attend if it's any earlier but that doesn't mean it can't be organised. We've had Bunfights at the Warwick in Clutton, Hunters Rest very close to Clutton, Carpenters Arms at Stanton Wick and The George at Abbots Leigh. I think it's good to find different locations so that you can all experience other areas where your ancestors lived. I know there are people on the list with family from Clevedon and also from the Gordanos. My 2xg grandfather built an organ for Christ Church in Clevedon. I'd be happy to take you on conducted tours around Clevedon afterwards if anyone is interested. There are also plenty of hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs in the town. Best wishes to you all. May I join the list, please? October seems a long way off yet, but no doubt the summer will fly past. Ian
