    3. Hello, I'm new to this list and am wondering whether SKS can help me. I have found what I believe to be, a 2nd marriage of my Gt Gt grandfather, Isaac KEELING to a Sarah FORD 18 August 1833. I found this on Ancestry and the source citation is as follows: - Place Bristol; Collection St James. If anyone has access to the Parish Records for this I really would be pleased if you could tell me what is the stated condition of Isaac eg Widower and also whether or not his father's name is William. Many thanks for taking the time to read this. Roy

    3. As this marriage is pre-Civil registration there is no guarantee that his condition will be mentioned - also it is highly unlikely that his father's name will be mentioned. The transcription available on CD from the Bristol & Avon FHS simply states the names and that they were both of this parish - nothing else. However it would be worth looking at the originals because in some cases at St James the condition has been noted. If they are the Isaac & Sarah KEELING living at Yate in 1851, it looks as if this Sarah had had a child before the marriage - James born in Cromhall in 1822. On the 1841 census there are two more children of Sarah, - Thomas & John FORD So she might have been a widow (or a single mother!)
