Hello Pat, Many thanks for your reply especially the additional information. Would you know where the original records are housed? Many thanks once again Roy -----Original Message----- From: bristol_and_district-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:bristol_and_district-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Pat Hase Sent: 02 April 2010 14:56 To: bristol_and_district@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [B&D] Isaac Keeling As this marriage is pre-Civil registration there is no guarantee that his condition will be mentioned - also it is highly unlikely that his father's name will be mentioned. The transcription available on CD from the Bristol & Avon FHS simply states the names and that they were both of this parish - nothing else. However it would be worth looking at the originals because in some cases at St James the condition has been noted. If they are the Isaac & Sarah KEELING living at Yate in 1851, it looks as if this Sarah had had a child before the marriage - James born in Cromhall in 1822. On the 1841 census there are two more children of Sarah, - Thomas & John FORD So she might have been a widow (or a single mother!)
