In 1923 the Old Market Street Chapel was demolished and the human remains which were in the burial ground were transferred to Greenbank Cemetery. ** A new Methodist hall was constructed on the site plus land made available by the purchase and demolition of four adjoining properties. The stonelaying ceremony was held on 23rd April, 1923 and the hall opened on 29th April 1924 bythe Rev Dr T Ferrier Hulme, M.A. , President of the Wesleyan Methodist Conference and former Chairman of the Britol District Missionary ...............
