    3. Pardon me if this a slightly long winded but............. I am looking for Elizabeth EDMUNDS c 1835 apparently born Ames in Devon [see below]. I have been contacted by a gent on Devon List who says that there is an Ames near Exmouth, so this could be true. I am still a bit suspect though as to whether Elizabeth really came from Devon. This LUDLOW family are transcribed as LUDLUM on Ancestry in 1851 and Elizabeth is EDWARDS. In 1861 in the same LUDLOW Family there is a Hannah EDMONDS [also below] aged 49 born Henbury. What I would like to know is...............Is Elizabeth Hannah's daughter? Did Elizabeth marry and then did mother Hannah take over her position with the LUDLOW'S? Has anyone got Elizabeth or Hannah in their Tree so that I can eliminate this Elizabeth as having been born in Devon as the census says. >From Gordon Beavington's 1851 census CD 317 LUDLOW Arthur 40 Chergyman Unemployed Bristol St Michaels Ann 36 Ireland Ann 7 Gloucestershire Compton + Catherine 2 Clifton Thomas 10m Clifton SHEPPARD Sophia Visitor 31 Ireland THOMAS Margaret Servant 37 Pembrokeshire Amroth DAVIES Elizabeth Servant Widow/er 65 Monmouthshire Crick HALL Joseph Servant 16 Henbury CERP / CARP Mary Servant 14 Gloucestershire Compton Grenfield EDMUNDS Elizabeth Servant 16 Devon Ames ******** In 1851 4 EDMONDS Hannah 39 House Keeper to Rector Compton CORP Enino Servant 14 Compton **** 1861 Henbury John Ludlow 40 head Vicar of Compton Bristol Jane Ludlow 77 widow Ireland Mary J Ludlow 54 daughter (presumably of Jane) Bristol Hannah Edmonds 49 servant Henbury, Glos Harriet Corp 16 servant Henbury, Glos Regards Bev Edmonds Australia
