One of the reasons I find this interesting is that it was published by Arrowsmith and my grandfather was a hand compositor for Arrowsmiths. I'm sure that his interest in the history of Bristol which he passed on to me was fuelled by this and other similar books. He was too young to have worked on this book but I wonder how much of the text he actually read as he set the print? I have his 1906 edition of Arrowsmith's Dictionary of Bristol which is another extremely useful book and is in constant use by me.
