    3. Hi Janet It happens even today. I dread seeing the antique programmes where someone is selling the family heirlooms with the comment, "none of my children are interested" - that might be at that time but in a few more years they would very probably be interested by which time it's all gone and, for what, under £100 for a mug with names and dates on, a piece of jewellery which is "out of fashion" and will probably come back into fashion in 10 years time. My gran met my grandfather up on The Downs in Bristol. She was already engaged but this man came up behind her and pinched her bottom and that's why I'm here!! I often wondered about the man she was engaged to who gave her a beautiful gold cross with ruby in and a chain. Fortunately I have it today and I treasure it. It's been round the world with me and rarely gets worn but I would not be without it. I also have a small photo frame - smaller than a farthing - with a photo of King Edward VII on the front and his wife Queen Alexandra on the back which I also have from my gran - it was always in her button box. What is even nicer is that I have a photo of my 2xg grandmother with a large gold chain around her neck with this photo frame attached, it's in a fine gold circle with a loop at the top to hang it by. I often wonder whether this was a Coronation presentation. I've never seen another like it. Do other members of B&D make a note of all the samplers we see on those programmes and then decide to trace the families? I just can't resist tracing them. There is a lady in the US who always buys up bibles when she sees them in the hope of returning them to their rightful families or at least putting the information on the internet. I've been fortunate to find one that she had and received all the very useful information.
