I can see some eyes glazing over as well becasue you know what's coming <VBG> It's one of my periodic reminders about posting to the list :)) Most of you do remember to post in PLAIN TEXT but there are one or two people who forget or don't see why they should. Using plain text is a Rootsweb rule, not one peculiar to this list. There's a sound reason behind it: viruses can't be spread via plain text but they can via HTML. HTML is the coding which creates the pretty coloured and/or fancy fonts and pretty backgrounds you see on web pages. Viruses can also be spread via malicious links. Please check your settings to ensure they are set to plain text only. Can I also remind people to snip (delete) all mails EXCEPT the one they are replying to. That doesn't mean snip out everything except your own reply becasue that will make it difficult to know what your mail is about without having a look in the archives. If you don't know how to snip, just ask and ye shall be told :)) Just recently there have been people who've tried to send attachments to the list in the form of images. Rootsweb don't allow attachments of any sort and will strip them out. If you want to send someone an image or other document, please send it directly to the intended recipient but advise them first that there is an attachment with the mail to ensure they are prepared for it.
