Child was > given same name so dad must have approved It may be that the child was a little sickly so was baptised there as a precaution, then baptised a second time in church for a "proper" baptism, rather than being received into church as should have happened. However, you may well be right and his wife may have chosen to keep quiet about the first baptism rather than cause an argument.
