    3. What was an accountant in those days? Was it a glorified bookkeeper or just a posh name for a bookkeeper? Did the enumerator misread what he saw or heard? He's there in 1861 as an accountant. What I found amusing was a son, Joseph "On trial as farmer"!!! George is dead by 1871.
