On 17th January I posted a request regarding the deaths of Joseph and Betty Birt who in 1830 were living in Castle Street Bristol. Pat Cook found two deaths in Lambeth. I considered those as possibles as their daughter had moved to Lambeth with their two grandchildren. I ordered the certificates and received them this morning (good service) Joseph b 1771 d 1840 aged 68 was the right age and living 11 Short Street Lambeth described as a Dealer in Glass paper. ( Had been a Dealer in Porter and Bottled Liquor Merchant when in Bristol) In 1841 census living in Short Street was a Elizabeth Birt ( did the enumerator decide Betty was an Elizabeth)aged 50 and an Elizabeth Tucker of the right age to be her granddaughter but both born in County. Betty Birt b 1778 d 1850 certificate showed her to be 71 the right age for my Betty living 11 Short Street but described as the Widow of John Birt a Commercial Traveller the informant was not a family member (Her daughter had died} Given the inconsistencies would you consider that I have found my Joseph and Betty.
