Hi Richard LOCKETT is a name which seems to get round all over the country. My earliest is Thomas LOCKETT who appears to marry Martha PRITCHARD 18th September 1801 at St Mary's Marylebone. They have a son, Thomas Ambrose LOCKETT bpt 12 Feb 1816 in St Marys. I haven't found any more children which seems strange. Thomas Ambrose then married on 19th Feb 1840 to Sarah WOOD at Leamington Priors, Warwick and they had 6 children. The first 3 born in Warwickshire and then between 1849 - 1849 they moved to Bristol where they had a further 3 children. Thomas Ambrose confused me for some time because he was sometimes referred to as Thomas and at other times as Ambrose. He moved the family to Cardiff for a few years but came back to Bristol. He was referred to as a chemist and a soda water maker. Since then the majority of the LOCKETTS remained in Bristol. There are now around 200 descendants of Thomas living in and around the Bristol area...of course, not all are now called LOCKETT! They were very prolific.
