    3. My Apologies for stating that the Heir Hunters Team had access to the BMD;Records in their office. I did mean of course,The "Indexes". If you would believe the trouble Ive had in the past in Drawing out MY Money from my OWN Account in the Building Societies,You would wonder why I bothered in the first place? They will NOT except a Birth Certificate as Proof of who I was. Even accompanied by a Recent Gas/Electricity/Water Bill's,showing them the SAME Address as whats on my "Birth Certificate!" So when I attempt to Draw out any Money,I take with me a Letter from the "Department Of Works And Pensions"with me as one bit of Acceptable Evidence.A "Debit Card"the second bit,and yes,My Birth Certificate. So there I am,loaded down with 3 bits of evidence to prove to them who I am. Whilst all those queing behind me have their Passports or Driving Licences with them. As I have neither of those documents. I had the same problem trying to open an Account with my Building Society in the first place. In the end, they Tried the "Electoral Register"available On-Line to prove to them, who I was. I told them my full name of Robert Graham WILLIAMS. Nothing Showed up! I explained to the Boss of that Building Society that I Had lived at my address All my Life! She then tried just Robert WILLIAMS. Still No Joy. Then she tried R.G;WILLIAMS. Bingo! I was in. Which brings me on to ask,What Evidence does one need to apply for a Passport & Driving Licence? Would it be a "Birth Certificate"by any Chance? The song "There's a hole in my Bucket,Dear ..........."Springs to mind! Cheers Graham. Graham Williams.of Canton,Cardiff. Chairman,"Canton Historical Society". Glam;FHS;#551.

    3. Hi Graham, I was tickled to see after that you sign as Graham but your email address is for Robert! No wonder every one else is confused! I gave up with Nat West Bank security long ago. To prove who I was on the phone they wanted my mother's maiden name and my place of birth - Leeds. For seven pounds. the GRO would supply any one with that! Bank security is a farce, no other words for it. If one googles for "Phil Warn" one can find my snail mail address, too!
