    3. Hello folks, I have been searching the web to find where I can purchase the British Vital Index CDs version 2 from LDS. Several sites point to the LDS website but not to a specific place, just general entry points. Can anyone provide me with a URL that actually links to a place where I can see these CDs for sale? Thanks in anticipation. Lawrence Lowe Scotland

    3. Hello Lawrence I seem to remember that the CDs were withdrawn from sale about 2 years ago because the content was going to be available on the LDS Family Search website ie free of charge. I suggest you check this with the LDS FHC in London ; Phone 020 7589 8561 email London@LDSMail.net . I have found them very helpful. 3. 1. See http://www.ldscatalog.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/LDSDomestic?storeId=1015 1&langId=-1&page=Europe - I bought my stuff from Garrets Green Lane, but so far as I know, it's by phone only. 2. http://www.genoot.com/downloads/BVRI2/ tells you what's on them... 3. As Polly says, the stuff is supposed to be on line, particularly at the Pilot site of Family Search http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=120379 8302736 - I'm not certain if the stuff is on the normal IGI FamilySearch site. 4. HOWEVER - I am not convinced that the non-Church of Scotland records for Scotland are on online on FS - they seem to have a peculiar relationship with Scotland. Certainly the Pilot Site has no Scots records. I suggest you see if you can find stuff you need online, by searching for the place, before paying.
