Hello Charani, You are dead right about Pritchard. Ap and Ab are "son of" in Welsh. So Pritchard is "son of Richard" Bevan is son of Evan, Pugh son of Hugh, etc. Rogers is *merely* son of Roger, so not particularly Welsh. In the same way that Williams and Williamson are son of William. Too many options and too little means of identifying either of them positively. Not to worry. They'll turn up in their own sweet time :)) -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Greinton and Clutton, SOM Asst OPC for Ashcott and Shapwick, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk
