    3. Some of you may be familiar with the FamilySearch Labs Pilot Project (http://labs.familysearch.org/). This is a massive project by the LDS Church to index all of their films and make the images available online. Volunteers do the data entry from images of the films, and later these images will be made available for searching on the FamilySearch Labs Record Search site. Software is downloaded to your computer to access the images. You then choose which project(s) you wish to work on and download up to 5 "batches" to complete. One of the current projects is the Bristol Parish Registers 1837-1900. I have found this indexing project to be simple, and each batch has 8-10 records per download, making it easy to complete. I've also found that the title is misleading, as I have done records for the 1820s, as well as later records. If you are interested in finding out more about this project and volunteering, see the FamilySearching Indexing website at: http://indexing.familysearch.org/newuser/nuhome.jsf Kathleen Craine Chicago
