    1. [B&D] Jane Arnold, Birth and Marriage Assistance Please
    2. Borlands
    3. Hello Everyone, Of, Jane Arnold, very little is known. In 1816 she had a daughter out of wedlock, when I guess she was quite young. The child was born at Aust and named, Sarah Arnold. Sarah immigrated to Australia in 1848. Australian marriage and death certificates held for one of Sarah's daughters cite her mother's maiden name as being, Sarah Power. Could there be a clue here perhaps as to who Sarah's mother possibly had married? I note that, Family Search, provides a marriage for, a Jane Arnold to a William Power in Feb, 1819 at Henbury. A maybe of course. Sarah's birth father was exonerated from paying further weekly sums for maintainence, in Oct, 1819. From this I take it that Jane Arnold may have had by then other means of support. Is anyone able to provide assistance for a possible birth for, Jane Arnold, parents unknown? Also, assistance for a possible marriage for Jane Arnold would be great. Grateful thanks for help with the above. Regards, Marina New Zealand

There is a baptism of a SARAH ARNOLD, mother's name JANE, on 2.06.1816 at Alveston Ref: 2a 9 72. The only additional information given is that Sarah was BASE-BORN and Jane was a servant. > Australian marriage and death certificates held for one of Sarah's > daughters cite her mother's maiden name as being, Sarah Power. A maybe of course. The reference for this marriage which took place on 23.02.1819 between WILLIAM POWER, LABOURER, OTP, and JANE ARNOLD, SPIN OTP, by Bans is Henbury 19 2 > Is anyone able to provide assistance for a possible birth > for, Jane Arnold, parents unknown? There is a baptism of a JANE ARNOLD to WILLIAM and HANNAH on 25.03.1799, at ALVESTON Ref. 1a 34 6 1 39 Also in ALVESTON Ref. 3A 37 108, there is a marriage by bans of a William ARNOLD on 16.08.1792 to a HANNAH MORGAN BANKS All these baptisms/marriages can be found on the Bristol and Avon FHS CDs It may not be the right Jane, but it is possible that she was a servant in Aust and returned home to Alveston to have the baby baptised.
