Surely if people donated their bodies to medical science they would not be buried at all? Or do you mean their remains were buried after being dissected? If so, this sounds most disrespectful. Not that it bothers me but I imagine descendants might be upset. 3. It makes sense to me. After all, once the bodies have been used for "science" you wouldn't just throw the remains down the drain? Surely there would be parts that needed a good burial. 3. Having been involved with indexing of Funeral Directors records here for the Genealogical Society of Qld INc, I have noticed funerals for people who had previously donated their bodies to research and then they are buried according to instructions made, often some time after the death. I guess if you haven't been involved in filming and indexing funeral directors records as we do here in Aus you probably would not have come across this extra bit of information. That's interesting. I'm not sure any funeral directors records have been deposited or filmed over here. I've not heard of this. Has anyone else? If not, it might be worth approaching the NAFD to see if their members are willing for this to happen. -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Greinton and Clutton, SOM Asst OPC for Ashcott and Shapwick, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk
