    3. Hi Lawrence I think I must post this reminder more often. FreeBMD is where the majority of researchers go when looking to purchase certificates so this is the best place to put your request. With marriages, it helps to eliminate the other couples on the same page. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about...go to http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl type WILLIAMS, Francis Leverton and when the page comes up with his details you will see the little envelope at the end of the line. Click on this and you will see what I've written. You can do this with your family. If you still don't know how to do it just ask. 3. Liz, I didn't realise that the Postem facility existed. I've posted two at critical brick-wall related relatives!! Thank you, Lawrence Lowe -----Original Message----- From: bristol_and_district-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:bristol_and_district-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Liz Sent: Thursday, February 25, 2010 12:43 PM To: bristol_and_district@rootsweb.com Subject: [B&D] Postem Notes - please use I find so few people use the Free BMD Postem Notes. These really are so easy to use and so useful. Yes, you've paid for your certificates but you don't have to put the details of the certificates on the Postem Notes. Over recent years I've realised that just putting "Certificate held by (your email address)" means that anyone finding this is likely to contact you and you will very probably have found a new distant relative to add to your tree. I would really like to encourage you to use this site. I now have at least 42 Birth Certificates, 46 Marriage Certificates and 30 Death Certificates on there. So far 3 people have contacted me about them. The more people who use this facility the better for everyone concerned. If you don't know what I'm talking about or how to access the site then please ask. 3. Dear Kathleen, The main name is ERNLE, which sounds like EARNLEY, and the variants are chiefly ERNELE, ERNELEY, ERNELY, ERNLY, and sometimes in EA-. Please don't worry about the other names. The only person I can specify by name is my ancestor John DEANE or DEAN who was described as attorney-at-law in his MI in 1715. He moved between Gloucestershire and Wilts. in the period say 1690-1715. Thank you so much for your time and generosity. 3. Utter frustration with the GRO at the moment. Out of 6 Death Certificates this week - there are errors on two of them! A Death Certificate for Bedminster was typed on the top as Beaminster which, of course, is in Dorset and not Somerset. A second Death Certificate which was for a man who was accidentally shot in 1862 had him in the typed area as 1842. That's a 33% error which is just not good enough. I've emailed them to see what they intend to do about them. Has anyone else had problems? Liz www.btinternet.com/~e.newbery OPC for Street, Somerset
