    3. Hi Charani, Thanks so much for letting me know. I met Lee at the Stanton Wick Bunfight, 20 September 1008 and again a few days later (not arranged) while searching at the Bristol Record Office. We had a very nice chat over lunch in their cafeteria. She certainly was a lovely lady. For those who don't remember Lee that well, she appears in the photographs taken at the 2008 Bunfight which are posted at my site http://community.webshots.com/user/Sophronia13. Prophetically, one is of Lee with Hugh Watkins who also died earlier this year. Regards, Nancy Frey Newcastle, Ontario, CANADA OPC for Ansford & Castle Cary, Somerset Moderator of Yahoo! 3. How sad. I will remember her with gratitude for help so cheerfully given over the internet and for being just as nice when we met. She had an interest in a family who were employed at Axbridge Workhouse in the 1850s as Master, Matron and Cook and she was able to give me some very interesting background to them. Lee also found that she had Bitton connections so the internet was red hot sorting them out. She also responded freely to other more general enquiries and was always informative and helpful, taking a real interest in other people's problems. I will miss her. 2. Polly Rubery
    3. Thank you for letting us know the sad news about Lee. Her posts were always informative and I will miss her presence, especially as she was kind enough from time to time to let me know about the doings of the RUBERY family who lived in her part of the world (down-under!). Another update on the 1939 application from me. A few days ago I received a letter from Smedley Hydro which I opened with great excitement, only to find it was from the GRO telling me about the increase in prices and decrease in services...:-( However I have this morning received an email about my application, which I'll copy below. I wonder what has sent my query off to the specialists?! 1. [B&D] Family Notices - a new site
    2. Charani
    3. Yvonne brought the following site to my attention: thanks Yvonne :)) www.familynotices.org It's a new site intended for notices about family events: births, christenings, marriages, deaths, burials. It's free of charge both to enter notices and to search them. There's no lineage limit either. Events do not have to be recent. They can be for anyone in your family at any time. Because it is a new site, there aren't as many entries on there as there potentially could be. Despite that, I've found an entry belonging to a cousin and I've also added some notices as well. This is a site which could complement FreeBMD. -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Greinton and Clutton, SOM Asst OPC for Ashcott and Shapwick, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk
