"My Dear Mrs. Boone: Someone has told me that you are the daughter of Brice David Brisbin and inasmuch as that would make you a cousin of mine, I'm going to start right in asking for a favor. ....I imagine that I am the first one of the Brisbins who ever attempted a most through and comprehensive search of the Brisbin genealogy starting from scratch. ... I have nearly fifty pages of family history today starting with John Brisbin of Revolutionary fame together with his brother William and I have their progeny right done to today. I am getting up a book which I hope to have printed for private distribution within the next month or so .... What I would like you to do if you would be so kind, is give me or loan me a picture of Brice Brisbin -- as a soldier, or afterwards - and if you want to give me the details of his Military career I'd appreciate it. If you want to tell me who he married and how many and who the children are I'd like that also. I know who he was and where he came from. ... William C. Brsibin" 1941 Jan 21: Copy of a typed letter from William C. Brisbin of Abingotn, PA to Miss Boone: "Dear Miss Boone: Thanks for your good letter of January 12th. Mr. George Louis Russell, president of John B. Stetson Company, a cousin of yours and mine, is very much interested in the book and is getting his advertising agency to seek estimates on the printing of the mass of data which I have accumulated during the past three years. As it now stands there are over 100 pages and about thirty photographs including a snap shot of your grandfather given me by a woman in Centre Hall. Yesterday, I left Chicago and took a bus to Plainfield, Illinois, where I had the pleasure of talking to George Brisbin, a farmer. In this community reside many Brisbins and they are all descendants of Samuel Brisbin of Boalsburg. He, George Brisbin, is over six feet tall and his brother is just as large. His brother's name is John. My father and his father and grandfather were all six footers. Of course my father still lives and enjoys excellent health altho is nearing eighty. As soon as we get a price on the book and are able to determine the cost to each one interested in obtaining a copy I shall get in touch with you.
