When the name changed from Brisbane to Brisbin (assuming it did), I have not yet worked out. And I have other bits and pieces taken off the Internet that need to (hopefully) be fitted together with that below. One thing pretty clear, however, is that this line, at least, were Empire Loyalists at the Revolution and moved from New York to Canada - then migrated into the US again later. (And this said over the long weekend of the Fourth.) It is noteworthy too that many of the Brisbins were centered in Illinois, Wisconsin. Checking the US gov land records in these states shows considerable activity by various Brisbins in the 19th century, particularly in Wisconsin. I've also run across a BRISBINE family from IA census. The mid-1800s. Will post if someone wants a look at brevity, but it is a name with some children's names. One of the things needed is names, dates, locations, even if approximations, on the postings. Helps immensely in (hopefully) piecing together families.
