Jackie, what you sent is one of the more exciting events in my family tree search, which isn't terribly old. A few weeks ago, literally, myself and my nephew (in CA) were in despir about ever piecing together my grandfather's line. There were vague recalls of "Ioway" from him in the 1950s, but absolutely nothing else. His children thought he was born in Iowa, but.... He led a family of fruit tramps from Iowa to Colorado to God knows where, ending up in California in the mid-1930s. And just didn't stop moving about until in mid mid-60s. Bits were pieced together with bleary eyes from poring over records. Then Perry Brisbin in Canada stepped in with an outline of some of what you just put on your msg - then yours - and much is beginning to fall into place with other bits and pieces. What you posted is magnificent. If there is more, I'm overwhelmed. And I suspect many of those on the Brisbin list will find keys to hooking many of the seemingly separate Brisbin families together. (There are only 345 or so of them listed in the SSDI.) Will get back to you, Jackie, privately soonest on working something out. Just down-loaded the PAF 4.0 tonight, but have no idea how to use it yet. Have not yet used a genealogy program. A bit of a learning curve ensues. Again, a zillion thanks, and yes, lets continue with a bit of life in this here Brisbin list. Peter, Bill, Edwin, Karen, thanks too for adding some starter fluid. Babbling from tiredness, monsoon heat/humidity and excitement. don in laos
