Hello, I am new to the list so I thought I would say HI! I am George Herbert Brisbin Jr and son of (You guessed it ) GHB (SR). My Father is the son of Charles Herbert Brisbin of the Jerry City (Woods County?) area of Ohio. Charles' mother and father divorced when he was 10 or 12 and he was taken to the Kansas area where his father resettled. At the age of 13 Charles ran away from his father and returned home to his mother. She remarried and was known as Mrs. Rebecca Gingery Wood. She did not claim the name Brisbin after the divorce even though my grand father, Charles, kept the name. Rebecca lived to see the turn of the century but passed away before 1920. My problem is rather simple :-). Who was my great grand father? Grandpa would talk of people in the family before him such as his grandfather and tell of how they served in the civil war ( apparently one of about seven brothers and sisters) but would mention few names. He would mention the town in central Penn. that bears the family name and apparently ties in to a George Mittinger Brisbin who married a daughter of a Dr. Houts(z) which is the name of the town just over the hill. But how this ties together I don't know. If this sets off any buzzers or bells I would like to hear about it. Thank you very much. George Brisbin
