    3. Brand, spanking new to this list, so bear with. Looking for my grandfather and those on back into time. Stumbled across this list and thought I would give it a try. Ray Arthur BRISBIN was born in Mar 1882 somewhere in Iowa. He spoke of Cedar Rapids. He died in CA in May 1963. His parents are reportedly Dan BRISBIN and M. MONCH, perhaps of Chicago IL. Ray married Edna WIMER of PA in Iowa about 1918. Edna had been married to Mr BLAIR and had one son, James Blair, when she married Ray. Ray had a brother by the name of Milt BRISBIN. Milt was last heard of in Colorado. Ray had a sister by the name of Pearl who married a Mr PALMER. Both appaently died in CA. Ray and Edna BRISBIN had four children between 1919 and 1930, born in various states; three daughters and one son. Ray was a carpenter much of his life, but spent many years picking fuit and vegetables as the family moved westward toward CA. From about 1935 onwards he was based in CA, primarily in the north end of the state. He died in Santa Rosa CA in 1963 of cancer. More than willing to pass along information on Ray's children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, most of whom are in CA. Need a shot in the arm on this, my favorite trout fishing companion for many years. don ronk in laos

    3. Hi Jackie, remember me? I have made a little progress with my Brisbin/Brisben/Brisbane line...and because of the info you sent me on the line that Linda Bell Brisbane of Churchville, PA was researching, I have found some cousins going off from Hannah Maria Brisbin who married Samuel Hatcher in 1832. Also a possible link to Mary (?Clark?) YOUNG, who married John Brisbin, in 1796, pos. Lancaster Co., PA I tried the phone number you gave me for Linda Bell Brisbane, and it has been disconnected. Do you have a new one? I tried to find one but no luck. It will break my arm to have to send snail mail! I am still trying to find out what happened to my James P. BRISBEN, from 1909 on. After his wife Rose (Wallner) Brisben died in Galesburg, Knox Co., IL in 1909 I can't find him or the two boys George and James H.....find the boys again in 1920. I do know that in 1920, George, age 13 and James H., age 15, BRISBEN were living with their Aunt Kate (Wallner) MURPHY and her husband Hugh and daughter Georgiana in Perry Township, Monroe, IN...just outside Bloomington, IN. At that time they were still spelling their name BRISBEN.....sometime between 1920 and 1928, George and James H. changed the spelling to BRISBANE... and somewhere between 1920 and 1925 the brothers ran away to Washington...George went off on a tramp steamer and James joined the Merchant Marines....so the family story goes. The story is that their father James P. Brisben, remarried and they had some bad experiences because of it and ran away. But I have also heard that James P. died within 10 years of Rose's passing. Another story is he lived until 1950 and the boys did not speak to him. My great aunt (George's wife) says my grandfather James Hugh Brisbane, went to Notre Dame for two years before going to Washington. If anyone knows anything about James P. BRISBEN born about 1873??, pos. Louisville, KY, Son of Samuel R. BRISBEN, b. abt 1830, d. 6 Aug. 1905 and Mary Elizabeth (FOREHAM/FOREHEM) BRISBEN Grandson of James Young BRISBIN, b. aft 1790, in PA or IN. (Jefferson Co., IN?) Thanks, Linda Jenkins Wensel

    3. Good to hear from you Jackie and welcome to Perry. Have been working other lines lately so not much going with my Brisbin line. Did you catch 60 minutes this past Wednesday. Part of it was how they use bloodhounds in police work. They interviewed the dog trainers. Mike Wallace interviewed Dr. I.Lehr Brisbin (Bris) as an expert on dog behavior. He testifies in court cases all over the U.S. involving dogs. He is a descendant of Capt. John by; Capt. John John, Jr. James William J.W. Dr. Charles H. I.Lehr Brisbin, Sr. Anne Futch

    3. Hi Everyone, I'm just sending out a short message to see if the list is working. Perry Brisbin in Canada has just connected to e-mail and the WWW. He is working on the connection between the Pensylvania, New York, and Canadian branches of the Brisbane/Brisben/Brisbin families. To my mind, Perry is the indesputed authority on the Brisbin families that left New York after the Revolutionary War and went up to Canada. Welcome aboard Perry! How is everyone doing? Anything new happening with the Brisbins? Jackie

    2. I've been in an "on-hold" status in my research. But still have an interest in dear old JAMES SANKS BRISBIN. I finally found out his first son's name is WINFIELD S. BRISBIN, born 10 Feb 1870, died 22 June 1949 and that he served as a Lt. in the 14th Minnesota Infantry during the Spanish American War. Keep in touch. Lyn Dunham

He uses as reference John Stoneroad and James Summerville. He is twenty-eight. He left Loverpool on April 15, 1837 and arrived in Quebec on June 28, 1837. He landed at Augusta, Maine on July 1, 1837. He now lives in Lewistown. (The last information comes from an 1843 declaration). Hope this helps someone. Anne Futch

    3. From: Brian Leverich <leverich@rootsweb.com> To: TEAM-ROOTSWEB-L@rootsweb.com We received calls today from Palladium and TLC assuring us that the December sponsorship check is in the mail. That makes things better for us in many ways, and we'll be bringing the Palladium banners back on line. While we aren't quite sure how the information flowed, it's clear that Palladium and TLC had seen postings by one or several of you on your lists. Also, we'd like to thank you because your recent efforts have resulted in a substantial number of new members. This puts us much closer to being able to do things like getting a bigger and faster search engine server online for handling your list archives. Thanks again, B.
