I am new to the list and would like to have the list your are talking about. Here is what I know about my Brinson connection: Benjamin F. Brinson was born in 1854 and married Minerva Goodson in 1880 in Columbia County FL. He lived and died in the county. There was an A J Brinson that signed for him on a deed transfer in 1900. Nobody is mentioned in his marriage bond. He lived for a long time on the Columbia co Suwanee co line and was had a lumbermill. The only other mention of a Brinson in Columbia county is of a Jane A./ James A in the 1860 census without any family. and a James A owned slves in the slave schedules in 1860. Cyprian Brinson was a state representative for Columbia county in 1856 but never shows up in census records for either county. There is a Benjamin Brinson in the 1860 or 70 census that is 30 years old with an Elizabeth listed as 16 and a Nancy listed as 13. I beleive the ages on the ladies to be wrong and this family came from Lowndes county Ga. In Lowndes Co. GA there is a Cyprian and a Mills A Brinson list in the 1840 and 1850 censis but not the 1860. A Stephen Brinson listed a 66 is in the 1850 Mortality Schedulefor the same county. Now comes the speculation: I think Benjamin Franklin Brinson born 1854 FL is the son of Cyprian Brinson (born GA) of Lowndes County GA and that Stephen born about 1774 and Nancy Brinson both born in NC, may be the grandparents. Does anybody know anything about this particular family? Or do you know anything that may help.
