I read, with interest, the submission by Joann (dated 10-19-97 - jbragg@daci.com). This is the first time I have ever heard of a son of Adam Brinson, RS, named Stephen. I have a couple of thoughts about Samuel. First, Mrs Louise Brinson Felton, who was the submitter to Huxford, was descended from this line, so the later generations were, no doubt, correct. Second, Stephen was born too late to be a son of Adam Brinson, RS and his wife, Sarah Sterling. Adam died in 1869 at the age of 60 years. Sarah died in 1786.. They both died before Stephen was born. I looked under Adam Brinson, Jr, and the age would not fit with his children either. I have, at present, 14 Adam Brinsons in my data base. There are also some with the initial of A which could be Adam. There is a mistake somewhere in this line, but wouldn't it be fun to solve the mystery!! I looked to see if I had a Brinson with the initial of S born about the same time as Stephen. Below is a line which has an S S Brinson born at the approximate time. I have no idea if this is Stephen, and it would be likely that he is Samuel SPARROW, since that is his mother's maiden name, but someone else might like to look and see if it is. Another thought is that Stephen was a GRANDson of Adam in one of the lines not so well recorded. I have 3 Stephen Brinsons, all born much later. Judy Canant - as usual, I invite anyone who has evidence to correct or add to this line to do so. Below this line is a Brinson line from Matthew, son of Adam Brinson, RS, which leads down to a family of Stringers, with a daughter named Nancy (the wife of Stephen Brinson was Nancy Stringer, if you will remember) This information did not include spouses of the Stringer children, but if I were a betting person, I would say that Nancy and Stephen were cousins.
