    3. Fredda Hodge here, My Brunson ancestors came over from Essex, England but in England it was Brownson. Cornelius "Cornelys" Brownson born abt. 1525 in Earl's Colne, Essex, England. Married Elizabeth Hovel she was born 1545 in England and died St. Giles, Colchester, England. His son John Sr Brownson born abt 1555 in Earl's Colne, Essex, England. Married Joan (?) abt. 1576 in Earl's Colne, Essex, England. He died abt. February 1622/23 in Earl's Colne, Essex, England. Joan was born abt. 1546 in Earl's Colne, Essex, England. Their son Roger Brownson born Sept. 15, 1576 in Adalham (Aldham have seen it spelled both ways) Essex, England. Married (1) Mary Underwood (My line) (2) Margaret (?) Brewer (3) Mathen Taylor. Roger married Mary May 12, 1600 in Lamarsh, Essex, England. Mary's father was John Underwood. Roger died in Adalham, Essex, England and Mary died in Earl's Colne, Essex, England and was born in Lamarsh. Two of their sons and a daughter came to the Colonies, to Hartford and Farmington, Connecticut in the 1600's. Their names were John Brownson (my line), Richard Brownson, and Mary Brownson. They began to be called Brunson in the Colonies. John Brownson (Brunson) was married to Francis Hills. Francis was born abt. 1605, in Halstead, Essex, England. John was born in Lamarsh, Essex, England and they were married in Halstead. Both died in Farmington, Connecticut.
