My family originates on the coast of North Carolina in Craven County, around the New Bern area. I have never known to much about the Brinson side of my family, except that my father is Robert Primrose Brinson, Jr. and my grandfather is Robert Primrose Brinson, Sr. My grandfather married Lila, but I don't even know her maiden name (I suppose I could ask her!). My grandfather has died, and I'm not sure how much family history my dad knows. I'm more knowledgeable in the family history of my mother's side (Bedsworth). However, if anyone knows something of the family history of this NC line of Brinsons, I would like to hear it. I'm a college student, and my studies do not allow me to do much study into family history. Plus, I'm in Arkansas for school, and I don't know of a single Brinson in Arkansas. Thanks for your help! Sincerely, Robert C. Brinson BRINSONR@ACC.JBU.EDU Hello Robert - Yes, I have some extensive info on the NC and GA Brinsons. Our Great Uncle Chauncey "Chan" Brinson did a lot of work with Miss Louisa Wright of Jefferson Co, GA, long ago. He shared what he had with the late Mr C D Hollingsworth of Sylvania GA and he published a paperback Brinson genealogy. I have most of that info, and have been in touch with Mr CD's daughter in law, who promises to copy the original and send. Our Brinsons came from Jefferson Co, GA to Wrightsville, GA. I have the family history back to the first Robert. I can't connect you to what I have without more info. PLEASE go talk to your grandmother or call her. The older folk remember a lot about family, usually, and time is a'wastin', so "git!", as granny used to say. Don't pass up this chance to gather info on your Brinsons. If you can find more (like your grandfather's father and mother's names (Grandmother should know that), write me again. Typical questions: Do you remember the names of Grandaddy's parents? Do you remember who their parents were? And do you remember where they were from? Do you remember the birthday? etc. Best wishes - Judy Canant, Lakeland, FL
