    3. > My name is Fredda Hodge and when I subscribed I thought it said Brinson or > Brunson. Am I in the wrong place? One branch of the family I'm researching went to Allen County, Kentucky, and went by the spelling Brunson (descendants of Stout Brunson, who was in the Revolutionary War), another branch (mine, descended from Stout's brother Zebulon Brinson) went by the spelling Brinson and ended up in Pulaski County, Kentucky, and in southern Indiana. So I'm kind of agnostic about the spelling. ;-) Tell us about your Brunsons? Karen

    3. Hello to everyone who is on the Brinson mailing list! My name is Christopher M. Brinson. I am 27 and I am very interested in the history of the Brinson name. I live in Baytown Texas. My granddfather, Ivey M. Brinson moved to Texas in 1910 from Florida, he had MANY half brothers and sisters there. I would be interested in hearing from any Brinson particularly those from Florida. His father was Anthony Wayne Brinson who had moved from Georgia. My original Brinson descendant on the North American continent was Thomas Brinson who came to Virginia in the 1640's. I believe I am the 10th generation in this line. Look at my web page. I have pictures there that I took in Brinson, Georgia. IT is a small city that was extablished by Simon Brinson who I belive was the brother to my great-great-great Grandfather Shepard Brinson. Also, from my web page, you can get to my sister's web page. Hope to be hearing from some of you! Christopher Brinson http://www.neosoft.com/~montag

    3. Yep, there is a Brinson here :) I am originally from Houston, but living in Utah (yuck) at the moment... I might be moving back to Houston soon though. I trace my part of the family back to William C. Brinson, who moved to Texas from Georgia during the late 1800's after being on the losing side of the civil war. His father was Daniel Brinson. 1. introduction
    2. Elf-Friend
    3. Well since I seem to be subscribed now, and have gotten a response to my previous message, I guess I'll introduce myself. My name is Alvin W. Brinson, and I'm originally from Houston, Texas. My link to the name which is the name of this list is quite obvious I think :). I'm 23, and currently living in Salt Lake City, UT (great for research hehe). My grandparents' families are from the northern part of Texas, around Paris Texas and some in the lower panhandle I think. I'll be posting a document later which details William C. Brinson, his parents, and his history later (He was my great-great grandfather) and see if anybody has any information of relatives, and hopefully the document will be useful to others as well.

    1. BRINSON-L: A (Very) New Mailing List
    2. Karen Isaacson
    3. Oh, gosh, there are people here! I know, I know, that's what a mailing list is for. ;-) It's just that I got busy after this one was set up and hadn't got around to notifying people about it, so it's kind of a surprise to see people here. Many of whom <blush> I owe message to. At this point, there are only a handful of us here, seven in all. What might make sense would be to contact other BRINSON (etc) researchers with e-mail (all those folk I owe mail to, ouch!) and invite them to join us. Then tomorrow or the next day, once we've increased our ranks a tad, let's post about how we tie into which BRINSON line... Karen karen@rand.org
