Thanks to David in England and my US based Brinson list mates for solving the Enoch Brinson parentage question. Now I have a stumper! My descendent, Mathew Brinson married a girl in Georgia by the name of Henrietta McLemore. It is said that his brother, Adam, married her sister. What was the sister's name?? I'm hoping that some of Adam's family might know. My Mathew moved on to Alabama after the death of Henrietta, with his two daughters. I have never found Mathew and Henrietta's marriage date or her death date, etc. Their first daughter, Martha Ann was born in 1812, and Susan was born in 1817. I can trace Mathew all the way back to Thomas and Joyce. How about it, any leads on these McLemore girls? My husband's grandmother was Dora Belle Brinson b. Dec. 1870 in Greene Co., Indiana who married Noble Cox. Her father was Greenup Brinson b. about 1844 in KY. He was the son of James Riley Brinson b. 1824 in KY. who married Jemima Adkins in Pulaski Co., KY in 1841. James was the son of Zebulon Brinson b. about 1797 in KY. He married Elizabeth Whitaker 8 January 1818 in Pulaski Co., KY. They are in Greene Co. by 1850. We know of two other sons of Zebulon-- John and Giles. Does anyone know about this line of Brinsons? Me again, David Brimson, There is, if I can remember only one Brinson on the Mormon IGI for Essex & that's Thomas Brinson.Wanstead is now part of London & I have my A-Z book in front of me with the page open. A motorway (freeway) goes right through it (M11) & to the left is a park & golf course. It is very built up by houses & road's. Originaly it would have been a tranquill village or hamlet but it's hard on this map to see where the original village was. Only the old church would indicate this. There is a surname card index in the Essex Record's Office which I looked at a couple of years ago but nothing was found under the name of Brinson or variant's I could think of. I spent a week in Chelmsford were the record's office is. It would be usefull to look at the parish register to see who the parent's of Thomas are & also if he had sibling's. There is nothing on the IGI, though this is far from complete. Quick do a search on Wanstead to see what it look's like now, mmmm !? I haven't searched yet as I just thought of it whilst typing this out. Hi, Deborah in Texas, Enoch in my programe, if it's the same one was the son of James J Brinson b abt 1761 in Craven Co NC & Paitence Purser they were married in 14 April 1783 no place though. They had 12 children including Enoch but I don't have any dates. Maybe someone else has more info. James died 5 th Sept 1831 in LA.
