I have traced our family back to Jacob and Susannah, and a little further back from them. I am interested in information about Simon Brinker and Mary Shirley's children though. My Aunt Helen (Helen Rebecca Brinker) helped raise me. My father William M. Brinker is not listed on any family trees that I have been able to find. he was adopted by Simon when he was four, but he was already listed as a Brinker on the 1930 census, then on the 1940 census he shows up living with my Aunt Helen listed as her nephew. I'm wondering if he was the son of one of the other brothers or sisters? I can't find any spouse/children listed for William F. Brakeman, might be a possibility?
