Surnames: BRINKER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YEG.2ACIB/178 Message Board Post: Anyone looking for Capt. John M. BRINKER of the famed Co. C, 78th Reg't. PA. Vol. in Civil War will find his death date recorded in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, NY. It's also interesting to see the many pursuits this man was involved in after the War, such as the Coal Business, near Fairmount City, Clarion Co., PA. He also ran a distillery in making Jones & Brinker Whiskey, of which the business was flooded involving one of the largest law suits in Clarion Co., PA. by folks in New Bethlehem, PA. Evidentally he left here, and moved to Buffalo, NY, where in 1895 John M. BRINKER, proposed the idea of holding a Pan-American Exposition in 1895. Check out the History of Buffalo, NY for interesting reading about the man! Anyone have 100% positive proof of his parentage?
