He was in the 23rd Pennsylvania "Birney's Zouaves" during the Civil War. He then went to the 82nd PA and mustered out at the end of the war. I could not find a pension record, date of death and gravesite. He was born in Butler County Pennsylvania in 1838. His father was Jacob Brinker and mother was Sarah Brinker(Graham). They got married in 1827. Alfred Brinker can be found in the book - "Life of the 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers" They have that he died in Burlington County New Jersey but I have tried several cemeteries and have come up empty.
