At the close of the 19th c they were in Westminster and Chelsea, London. By the 20th c they had moved south of the Thames in Lambeth (James Brindley Clark, 3rd son of Martha Jane Brindley & Arthur Clark. This is the line of my maternal family. The Clark's married into the Murphy's. My great grandfather has a spat with his father and dropped out of his engineering apprenticeship and took his wife first to Canada and then onto the States. I visited Sussex and London 2 yrs ago and did some light research. There are many Brindley gravestones in Seaford, but none that I recognized with any certainty. If your Brindley line takes you south of London, perhaps we have information to share. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Benjamin was my great, great, great, great grandfather and Samuel or "Sammy" was his father. I have a book that was written about Sammy Brindley and it gives his birth date as 1792, he married Sarah in 1861 and then died oct. 23, 1875. I don't have anything further back though. The book doesn't list his parents. It only makes mention of his son Benjamin who was named after Sammy's brother who died in a mining accident. I researched and thought I found His parents named, John Brindley and Elizabeth Cork. Do you have anything on this family line? Thanks Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you would like to reply to them, please click on the Message Board URL link above and respond on the board.
