    3. Hello. I am the List Administrator for this list. Sincerely, > The RootsWeb team > > I am the List Administrator for a number of Rootsweb genealogy mailing lists. Like a number of other Rootsweb genealogy mailing lists List Administrators, I have started migrating some of my Rootsweb mailing lists, to groups.io, which apparently offers a superior mailing lists facility. If five or more subscribers to this list, each post to this list, requests for me to also migrate this list to groups.io, I will set up a group for this list, on groups.io. So, if you want this genealogy mailing list to continue, I need for at least five subscribers to each post messages, stating this. Remember, all Rootsweb genealogy mailing lists are scheduled to cease operation, as of 02 March 2020. -- Bret Busby List Administrator Armadale West Australia .............. His parents are Ruth and John Brindley also a papermaker. John and Ruth travelled quite a lot around the country having a daughter Mary Ann in 1810 in Tibberton, another daughter Sarah in 1821 in Carshalton and a son James in St Mary Cray in 1823. In 1841 Ruth and John are in Wookey Somerset and in 1851 Ruth and daughter Sarah are paupers in Lichfield. Sarah is blind. Try as I might I can't find marriage for Ruth and John's wedding. There are a number of John Brindley's who could fit the bill but none of them are married to a Ruth I suspect that Ruth dies in the Tamworth Union workhouse but although there is a death of a Ruth Brindley in 1854 there it hasn't been recorded properly as it cannot be found when I tried to get a copy. I cannot narrow down when John dies as there are a number of John Brindleys and I cannot identify which one he is. Can anyone lease throw any light please? 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: brendli Surnames: Brindley Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.brindley/168.3.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Have been working on the Brindley family, which was located in Alabama, Virginia, US. Have not been able to get back past Fraser Brindley as the spelling however the older records spelled his last name as Prayzar, Brendley, Brinley. Over the years, some welling meaning people posted a lot of data about Fraser, which has proven not to be correct. We do have Dna, on his family line but have found no connection prior to Fraser. Some have written he was related to Brinlee's and Brinley's however Dna has shown this is not correct although some spelling have him listed as Brinlee, Brindley, Brindle, Brenlee. Thus we do not know the true last name of Fraser, or at least as to how he spelled his last name. After 40 years of research on this family, no one, nor records, have been able to provide his actual birth date, nor location, nor father or mother. While there has been a lot of guessing as to his brothers and father may have been, I have never seen any documents, that helps on this manner. The best change of solving this problem is with Dna. While Dna, has not provided his origin, it has provided that the the stories others have written as to his family line, have proven not to be correct. Please feel free to write me back. I did not find him in America until 1770. in VA. When DNA hit genealogy, I thought finally I can find something, no it does not show him related to any other Brindly's, that we have tests from. The DNA test show Stanley (Fleet, Sands) Brindle, worthington, etc. Most seem to be from Lancashire, England. Would dearly love to have your thoughts on this mystery. Passed down stories say our Richard Brindley came from Ireland to America ,a young lad,as a stowaway. In 1750. and that he, has 4 sons, Fraser, George, Stephen and Robert. I found he and all his sons. I did not find anything of Richard until ca.1770 in the valley of VA.Fincastle &,Botetourt county's. When I check DNA ,It does not show Brindley;s except ones we are familiar with ,, but does show Stanley;s the old "Fleet and Sands Stanley"and a Brindle fellow which his people came from Lancashire, England mid 1800's. At one time my family lived near Okemos, Mich. near a fellow by same name as my dear late Husband, George brindley, He showed photos from the attiic of ancient relation, 3 brothers came from a little town on the line of Germany and Switz. to Canada, then to,westphalia mic. they were a splitting image of our oldest known Richard's Grandson. I would love to have you share your thoughts. Helen j Brindley Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
