I have the 1880 census and looked for Elijah but did not find him. I did find Lida age 66 born in GA living with Simeon B. Brimer, age 32. His wife was Ann E. age 26, with son William E. age 4, John H. age 2. Also his brothers Tarpley age 25 and Elijah age 20 all were living with him.They are living in Marietta, Cobb Co., GA. Simeon's brother David A.(Anderson) Brimer age 33, Elizabeth age 33, son Jasper age 6 and daughter Lula age 2 are living in Smyrna and Lemons, Cobb Co., Ga. Another brother, I assume, J.B. age 31, wife J.A. age 26, son Thomas E. age 7, Daughter Julia H. age 6, son E.D. age 4, son J.H. age 1. It also list a Sanford Pitts age 22 born in Ga. in this household and states he is brother in law. So I assume J.A. Pitts was J.B's wife's name. They are living in Post Oak, Cobb, Georgia. How far back have you got on the Brimer line? I would love to compare notes. Martha

This is why it's hard to research, sooo many common names back then and alot of information was not tracked well at all. I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops (pictures with names on the back and locations on the front) and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with the people who will treasure them. The picture was taken by the Harper Studio, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin (Sauk Co.), anywhere from about 1900-1915 (my estimate, based on the type of photo, etc.). The photo shows four women and four men, all in their 60’s to 80’s. The names on the back are: Aunt Betty ROSE Aunt Katty BRIMMER Aunt Agnes RENSKIS Aunt Malinda CARR Uncle Abe SHULTIS (Dad) Enoch SHULTIS Uncle Bill SHULTIS Uncle Jack SHULTIS This is a wonderful treasure that I just could not let it stay there; I am hoping that there are descendants out there who would want to have it. The ladies are all wearing dark high-necked dresses, and the men are all wearing suits and each of the men has a mustache. It looks as if the oldest man might be Bill, if that helps anyone. The picture itself is 8-1/2” wide x 4” high, mounted on a very heavy cardboard frame 13” wide and 8” high, as was typical during that time period. The picture is an original, in excellent condition.
