I believe he may have been the older brother of my 2nd great grandfather, Adam Weise (later changed to White) Brimmer. If I'm right they both were born in Lancaster County to Christian and Lydia Brimmer. My guess is that Richard moved to McVeytown and started a tin business and Adam followed him. Adam is shown to be a tinsmith in later census reports and he died in 1865. There is a large Brimmer plot in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown, although I do not know where Richard is bured, Does any of this sound right to you? Thanks in advance for any follow-up info you might be able to share! Dick Tito Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Ida Mae Brimmer Howard and William Howard...No middle initial.... were my grandparents. They lived in Genesee, PA. Grandma's parents were Rant V Brimmer and Cynthia Ann Lowe. Rant's parents were Johiel Brimmer and Maria or Mariah Smith. Johiel's parents were John Brimmer and Amey Christian. John's parents were probably Gotfried Brimmer and Ruena. Gotfried's parents were Johhannes (Hans) (John) Brimmer and Anna and he was born in Rotterdam, Germany in 1710. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have found a few articles pertaining to this as well, just wondered if the information is indeed solid. Joheil Brimmer was the father of George Brimmer, (my GG grandfather), who was the father of Ethel Brimmer who married my G Grandfather Frank Applebee. Frank was the father of Merle Applebee my Grandfather, who did not often speak of family members, but had mentioned Indian blood. This is what I'm trying to figure out... Author: lee_brimmer Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.brimmer/141.1.3.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello I'm Lee Brimmer grandson of Robert T. Brimmer who was born in Wales Circa 1900.(Married Marion Payne c 1920-5)His father was also called Robert T. Brimmer born I understand somewhere in Norfork, England, date unknown. I do not know much about any of the family that went to the States only that my Grandfathers cousin was Ernest Brimmer a.k.a. Richard Dix and that they never met.My Grandfather was also due to go to the States but for some unknown reason he never went, good job because he was due to go on the Titanic!! All my Grandfathers brothers(Four I think) emmigrated to Australia sometime in the twenties but he came to live in Luton where his wifes family had moved to. His sister Maudy stayed in Treherbert giving birth to two daughters one of whom went back to live there in later life and has now passed on, one of her daughters living there being the last link that the family has with the place. Us Brimmers in the UK now mainly live in Luton although unfortunately time is ! taking its toll and we are becoming a dwindling band.
