A descendant of your Thomas A. McAbee, s/o James and Dorothy McAbee, has taken the DNA test. You know James established Thomas A., Barnette Gaines, James Riley and Elizabeth as three of his children when he filed his Southern Claims Commission claim following the Civil War. He had other children, too. DNA has established that James, b. 1795, and Drury, b. 1785, are brothers. They were from the Spartanburg Co. SC area. James later moved to Cherokee Co. AL.
