Thanks for your reply Landon, I would like to see an interest in this family started again Has anyone ordered the military records of Jackson? More on Sarah Catherine I have found the Marriage of Sarah Catherine to Jesse Brimer. I have not found record of her other marriages or the divorce record of her and Jessie D. Jessie Brimer and Catherine Brimer March 13, 1880 Warren County, Tn Book 2, page 342 I also found last week while visiting Tennessee James R. P. Brimer and Nancy A. Jones Feb 14, 1867 Dekalb County, but since James was born about 1865, I don't think this could be the right James, so which one is he? I am probably the one that gave Rae the info on Sarah being married to William P. Henry and this is what info I have on them Taken from Death Certificates William Howard Henry born 1/01/1894, died 2/21/1953 in Vanderburgh County, In We knew him. His bible states that his mother was Sarah Catherine Brimer and William P. Henry. Also taken from Death Certificate Malinda Henry born 7/27/1890 died 7/19/1938 in Vanderburgh County, In States father was Perry Henry and mother Catherine Brimer By 1900, Sarah is an Estes living in Cannon County We have my grandmother's birth date as May 1, 1900, I think she was born sometime later. Her name was Lillie May Estes. 1900 Cannon County Census 11th district Estes, William jan 1844 , Sarah Mar 1865 , Linda Apr 1882 , Willie Jan 1890 , John Jan 1892 , Jesse feb 1896 , Lige May 1897 On William Howard Henry's obit, it list half brother's John, Jess and Lige and half sister, Mrs Earl Lehew which is my grandmother. Also nephew, Thomas Keaton It was thought that some of the estes boys could have been full brother's to Lillie. I found in a newpaper clipping where a Mrs William Estes died November 29, 1903 and failed to put down where I found this out, kicking myself for that. I had such a hard time following this family, I thought it was too good to be true and there was many Mrs William Estes in the area. I have been searching for years trying to find where these children went to when Sarah died. William Howard first married 1916 to Ellen McCarty in Montgomery County, Tn. Ellen was from Dickson County, Tn. They moved to Hamilton County, Oh where Ellen died shortly after giving birth to a daughter, Elizabeth Jane Henry. William then moved to Florence, Al where he married Mattie Vessel in 1918 William and Mattie moved to Evansville, In where Malinda Henry was already living with son, Thomas Keaton, his death certificate shows date of birth as 01/10/1905, died 1/08/1958, states father is John Keaton, mother Malinda Henry In 1920, Malinda is shown as being divorced. On Jess Estes' draft registration in Van Buren County, it says that he was born Sept 12, 1896 in Painsville, Tn (Van Buren County) I found 2 marriages for him, one to Ova Curtis and the other to maggie Tucker and when I relayed this info to my mother she remembered His wife she met being named Maggie. My grandmother couldn't tell us much other than she lived with the tim Moore family when she met and married my grandfather. I tracked them down and found where Tim and Fannie Moore ran the Pentacostal Home for Girls in Nashville, Tn. They had a son named Tim that moved to Wilson County and I feel this is probably the Tim Moore family she lived with. She had a photo of her and a little girl that matches with the children on the 1920 census of Wilson county and the Tim Moore family. So far, I have been unable to find anything on john and Lige. My thought is maybe someone from the Brimer family may have taken some of these children when Sarah died, so if anyone has run across a probate they didnt understand, this is what it is.
Ms. Reynolds, My grandy always told me that her daddy, Jessie Darius Brimer, Jr., married the daughter of his Uncle Jack Brimer. Jessie Brimer, Sr. was a veterans of the 4th KY Cavalry along with his first cousin Dan Dukes. After Jessie, Jr. married Sarah Catherine, she took up with another man, her father, JACK BRIMER, hunted him down and killed him. Jack Brimer was sented to the "pen" in Nashville for the killing. Jessie, Jr lefted and went to Adair County, Ky to live wirth his Uncle Dan Dukes. Sarah Catherine left and was not heared from again. This may not be true, but it was what my grandy always told me. You know how these types of stories get things added on to over the years. I do not know who "Jack" Brimer and Jessie Brimer, Sr. father was. I do know that Jessie Brimer, SR married 1856 Bledsoe County, TN to Nancy Catherine Dukes, the daughter of Steve Dukes and his wife Nancy McBride. Steve Dukes is buried at the Greenwood Cemetery near Doyle, TN, and is wife Nancy is buried at Beech Cove Cemetery, Van Buren County, TN in Sparkmantown Community. These families are connected, just not sure how? You wouldnt happen to know what time frame this would have happened in? When did Jessie show up in Adair County for example. I'm thinking Sequatchie County might be a good place to start looking for the crime. ----- Original Message ----- From: "beaugard" <beaugard@infoave.net> To: <brimer@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, November 15, 2006 6:07 AM Subject: [BRIMER] Jack Brimer > Ms. Reynolds, > > My grandy always told me that her daddy, Jessie Darius Brimer, Jr., > married the daughter of his Uncle Jack Brimer.
