    3. Are your Brimers from Jefferson County, Tennessee or connected with a Holybee girl born about 1820. The Brimers I am looking for are any from Jefferson County. I know John Brimer joined the U. S. Army and came to Fort Gibson, Indian Territory, (Oklahoma) in 1837-40 and married a girl named Holaby, Holybee, Hollabe etc. I believe he left children and am looking for descendants. Following is information on him. National Archives Film #350326 M-233, Roll 20, Volume 41 has on page 9, John Brimer, age 21, grey eyes, fair hair, fair complection, 5 feet 6 inches tall, born in Te (Tennessee), Jefferson County, enrolled in U. S. Army on March 6th, 1836, at Camp Hunting by Lt. Hooper for 3 years, was in the 4th Regiment, Company F, and discharged March 5, 1839 at expiration of service at Fort Gibson, Arkansas. (Private) meaning that was his rank in service. Then in the same film in Volume 42, page 23, #236 is Brimer, John, age 24, grey eyes, fair hair, fair complection, 5 feet six inches tall, born Te. (Tennessee), Jefferson County, occupation - soldier, enlisted July 1st, 1839 at Ft. Gibson, by Lt. Scott, for five years in 4th inf. Co., F. Died October 24, 1843, 2nd enlistment, at Jefferson Barracks, Mo. (A Private). I ordered his military record and got a copy of the Volume 42, page 23 above and the following sheets too. A sheet stating the material in Volume 42 and stating it was his 2nd enlistment, last served in "F" Company, 4th Inf. The pension record of Hezekiah Holybee, his brother-in-law, states his brother-in-law, John Birmer died in Jefferson Barracks, Missouri while in service.
