    2. Kathy, That's very interesting. What did you find to tie William in as the son of Benjamin Brimer(father of Joseph Brimer)? ...Marjorie =================================== In a message dated 7/4/2006 1:17:58 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, kdbrimer65@msn.com writes: I have just tied Tabitha's father William into my Alabama Brimer's. William's brother Joseph and wife Celia Heard settled in Georgia and their son William Nelson Brimer moved on into Alabama. I have lots of info on this branch of the family. As most of you, a great bit of it is from my research and may not be documented. 3. This was found in some of my search, maybe someday we will be able to document. Will of Benjamin Brimer (Will Book A, page 38-29, roll 53) Memorandum of the last will and testament of Benjamin Brimer of the state of South Carolina and Pendleton District. I hersayth that I being sick of body, but of perfect mind, first I do bequeath unto my wife Rebeccah all my moveable property, goods, and chattels according to the interest her of and no man to interfere. This property is to be divided as follows at her decease 1/3 part to be given to Jessey Brimer, 1/3 part to be given to Nancy Maus, 1/3 part to be given to Betsy Leonard. I likewise do give and bequeath unto Caty Gober fifty dollars, I likewise do five and bequeath unto Rebecah five founds sterling. I likewise do will and bequeath into the under named person five shillings a piece, William Brimer, Polly Henry, James Brimer. I likewise do desire William Leonard to see to the business given under my had this day and year. A Columbia SC genealogy professor Brent Holcomb commented that he saw no relationship states to the William and James Brimer in the will. There is no info that they were minors at the time. The will makes no mention of real property. It is odd that Rebecca and Joseph applied for letters of administration, since there was a will. There is no administration bond on file. Thies is food indicaiton that Joseph was likely the eldest son who under English primogeniture law inherited all the land. The citation for letters of administration were ppublished at Roberts Congregation, a Presbyterian Church. Sale of his personal property was 2 days of sale and totaled $516.34 on November 10 and 13, 1803. Rebecca was already married to Van Davis by Oct 28, 1803 (1 month after Benjamin's death). There may be a connection with the 4 Brimers in the 1790 Census and Joseph and William have War pensions and Jesse has a land grant in Burke County, NC 1798. Benjamin dies about Sept 9, 1803 and Rebbeca marries Van Davis Oct 1803 at Old Mountain Creek Baptist Church, Pendleton District. Benjamin is propable the father of William and Jesse as well as Joseph. >From: Mamt1984@aol.com >Reply-To: BRIMER-L@rootsweb.com >To: BRIMER-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [BRIMER] In search of George Rogers and wife, Tabitha Brimer >Rogers >Date: Tue, 4 Jul 2006 01:53:03 EDT > > >Kathy, >That's very interesting.
