My ggrandfather's wife was Amanda Brimer born in Cobb County about 1841-43. The 1850 Cobb County census lists: Elijah H. BrEmer, age 40, overseer, born GA Lydia (may have been Elizabeth?) age 38 William, age 13; Lusinda, age 11; Amanda (my ggrandmother), age 9; Simeon, age 7; Alexander, age 5; William (another one?) age 3; Rachel, age 1 - all born in GA. You don't state when your William W.rimer was born. Does this fit? If so, I'd be mighty pleased to swap info with you. These Brimers (Bremers, Brymers) in my family tree are giving me a hard time. THANX ! Glenn

Looking for info on the family of William W. Brimer (b. Dec 1836). He seems to have lived in Cobb Co. all or most of his life. His wife's name was Mary _____?_____. Their known children were: William, Florence, John, Alice, Emma(?), George, and May. George and May were twins born in 1880. The census indicates that W.W.Brimer was born in GA and that his father was born in SC, his mother in GA. In the 1900 census, there is a grandson living in William W. Brimer's household. His name was Calvin Blythe (also known as James Calvin Blythe). Evidently one of W.W. Brimer's daughters had married a Blythe, but I do not think it was one of those listed above. Does anyone know anything about this marriage?
Ruby... I found another Jackson Brymer in my files. This Jackson Brymer was born abt. 1838 in Bradley County, TN. He was the son of John Brymer born abt. 1811. My Brimer (Brymer) grandparents begin with: Jackson "Joe" Brymer (Brimer) born abot 1832 in DK. Married Genette (Gennette) Ward, born 1838 in Ind. Does anyone have any information on this line of Brimers???
Yes she is my Aunt. I am the oldest child of Benjaman I. Brimer. Aunt Earline is the daughter of Uncle Charlie and Aunt Olama. Sorry I dont know my great-grands names. I do rememer great grand Hutchins as a very old may with white wiskers. He was from north central Arkansas, Melburne area.
If I have what part of the family you would be from you have an aunt Erleen. Am I right? You probably know that two sisters from the Hutchin's family married two brothers from the Brimer family. That makes the children from the two families double cousins. Your father would have been my father's double cousin. Anyway I am probably boring you, but if I am right, I have a little information that I copied out of the family bible. But the only thing of use to you maybe the great grandparents names. Please write back. Drenda

Hello List I am not related to the Brimers but am doing this research for my first cousin who is related to them. I have 1880 and 1900 census information for William. His wife is "Mary". Does anyone know her maiden name? One of his children married a Blythe, probably late 1870's to early 1880's. Any information on this marriage? Anyone know who William W. Brimer's parents were? According to census, he was born in Georgia in Dec. 1836. Known children of William and Mary Brimer are: William, Florence, John, Alice, Emma (?), George and May who were twins. Any help with this Brimer family would be greatly appreciated as I try to fill out a pedigree chart for my cousin who does not do family research. Sandy

Hey, Bob; Have you ran across anyone with the initials J.C. (Brimer) married to a Sarah? It would have been around 1850-1860 in Alabama and moving to Texas. children: A.Beecham; Richard Monroe; Walton, Wilton (twins);Louise and Sarah Jane Thanks for any help. Tricia
Sorry Tricia, That Bob was not me. I have a cousin that was named William. His surname is Cramer but the more I research it seems there was some method to the first names given within the Brimer family until the 1960's. I am finding a repeditive sequence on many first names that go back to the 1700 and 1800's. Bye for now! bob
Tricia, My family line also follows the German tradition as our place of origin. There are still Brimers in Germany, my sister on a recent visit there spoke with a Brimer family there (although they pronouce the name differently than we in the US). But the Brimer name is viewed by some Scots as a variation of a very old name, Brabener, which goes back nearly 1000 years in Scotland. In fact, there is a Scottish Coat of Arms given someone named Brimer (bit of tradition here, a Scottish Coat of Arms belongs only to the person it was presented to unlike the British whose Coat of Arms come down through a family line). Most of us in the US more than likely have German roots, but where the name originated can only be speculated on.
Looking for any info on Rebecca Brimer. She had 2 children out of wedlock one named Floyd. She owned a boarding house somewhere in NC.
Trying to find all of Joseph Brimer and Celia Heard Brimer's children. They moved into Hall Co. Ga. around 1808. Joseph died in the early 1820's and Celia died sometime after 1850. Joseph was buried at Chandlers Creek . Known children of Joseph and Celia are Benjamin, Mary, James and William Nelson. There was supposed to be 9 children born to this couple. Would love to find other Brimer researchers to connect the rest of the children and to compare notes. Martha Thrasher
Was just browsing through the Brimer Message Board hoping to find something that might click together with my puzzle. I noticed that you wrote something about an Uncle Charlie from Searcy or Griffithville, Arkansas. I think that's my grandfather. I'm having a hard time finding anything beyond him though. Was he married to a Naoma Hutchens or Hutchins? If so, that's him. I am the daughter of George Brimer, one of their sons. Please email me with any info you have on them. It would be greatly appreciated! Shelley Brimer
