    3. I have just tied Tabitha's father William into my Alabama Brimer's. William's brother Joseph and wife Celia Heard settled in Georgia and their son William Nelson Brimer moved on into Alabama. I have lots of info on this branch of the family. As most of you, a great bit of it is from my research and may not be documented. 1. Re: [BRIMER] In search of George Rogers and wife, Tabitha Brimer Rogers
    2. Hi Lavonne, Do you have ANY other information on your John Brimer other than his approximate birth date? Such as: wife, children, grandchildren, location of residence? I will search through my sources for you if you can give me more to work with. The John Brimer, from my files, whose birth date comes closest to your John's was born abt. 1809, married to Lesmina "Miney" or " Mincy" Carmichael on 18 May 1835 in Jefferson County, TN. Their children were: Houston, David, Harriet, Samuel, Martha, Amanda, & Andrew. I suspect that this John was the son of my ggggrandfather, John Brimer, and thus the grandson of Wm. Brimer, the Rev. War Vet. However, I haven't made any documented connections. Have you researched another spelling of Brimer; ie: Brymer? My gggggrandfather, Wm. Brimer, the Rev.War Vet., had a son, Wm. Brymer, who spelled his last name Brymer, unlike his father and brothers, who spelled their last name Brimer. I believe this Wm. Brymer, had a son named John. This John Brymer was born abt. 1811, married to Martha ..?.., children's names: Tom, Louesia, Wm. W., Elvina, Caroline, Jackson, David, Newton T., Jasper, Amos Posey, Elizabeth, Asbury, Marion F., Rebecca "A.P.", Newell, & Louis. This family was shown on the 1860 Texas Census. (Several of Wm.Brymer's descendants, I believe, migrated to Texas.) I believe there was a John Brimer in Alabama too, but I can't find that info at just this moment. Could either of these be your John Brimer? Are there any other Brimers that you need info on? I am happy to share any Brimer / Brymer info with anyone. In response to your comment "in an effort to help us all", I will, in a separate email, begin "sharing" info on the list. I would like to see discussion on this List regarding the Brimers. I'm sure there are others on the List that know a lot more than I do regarding some of the elusive Brimers, such as your John and my Tabitha. (Who, by the way, I still have received no information on. :) If anyone on the List sees any errors in any of the information above, please let me know. ...Marjorie _Mamt1984@aol.com_ (mailto:Mamt1984@aol.com) ============================================== In a message dated 7/2/2006 9:36:55 A.M. I don't have much data on the rest of the family-other than what the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census record tells us. My wife's Great, Great Grandmother was Elizabeth Brimer, born Jan. 1847 in StClair Co., Alabama, the daughter of Samuel & Sarah Brimer! She married William S. Terry abt. 1865, probably in StClair Co., Alabama. The latest census I have found them on was the 1880 Census of Lawrence Co., Moulton, Alabama, Wm. S. & Elizabeth lived just three house's down from Mary Norwood in 1880, Elizabeth's mother ; Sarah Brimer was living with Mary Norwood (her mother), according to the 1880 Census! Sarah had one son living with her S. Z. Brimer, who I beleave was Simon Z. Brimer age 24. Mary Norwood was 69, and a widow, Sarah Brimer was 54 year's old, and also a widow! I found William S. & Elizabeth next on the 1900 Census of Lamar Co., Alabama with several children, and a son-in-law Obidell Stewart! Also were other Brimer Families living there too! I'm not sure how they fit in? My wife's Grandm! other was Mae Selena "Terry" Brooks, and she had a first cousin named Bertie Mae "Brimer" Hicks, who lived at Bald Knob, Arkansas! She married Randy Hicks, and they were buried at Shady Grove Cemetery, near Bald Knob, Arkansas! Also where several Staggs, and Brooks who lived there too! They are all related to my wife! I sure would like to receive a reply from you, so we could exchange info! William G. Latham Jr.

My wife's Great, Great Grandparent's were William S. & Elizabeth {Brimer} Terry! And I want to beleave Elizabeth Brimer was the dau. of Samuel & Sarah Brimer from StClair Co., Alabama! Sarah Brimer was living with her mother Mary Norwood on the 1880 Census of Lawrence Co., Moulton, Alabama! Sarah was listed as 54 yr's old, and a widow, she also had a son living with her and Mary, his name was S. Z. Brimer age 24! I'm almost sure that he was Simeon. William S. & Elizabeth Terry was listed on the same page as Mary Norwood. I sure would like to share our Terry family with you. Samuel Brimer may have died bet. 1868 - 1870. On the 1870 Census it did'nt list Sarah as a widow, but as you probably know the census taker's made alot of mistake's transcribing the census! Please contact me, I'm sure this is the right family! Sincerly Your's, William G. Latham Jr.

She was living with her mother (Mary Norwood) on the 1880 Census! Sarah is listed on the 1850, 1860, & 1870 Census of StClair Co., Alabama. I think their daughter Elizabeth Brimer married William S. Terry. They too are on the same page as Mary Norwood in 1880. Wm. S. & Elizabeth "Brimer" Terry were my wife's 2'nd Great Grandparent's! Sarah did'nt have a dau. named Julia Ann, maybe she was married to a Brimer! I would like to know who she was married to, if you can help, please send me a note. William

    2. Re: BRIMER / ROGERS I have a dead end in my research. I am trying to locate any information on George Rogers and wife, Tabitha(?) Brimer. Tabitha was known by several different names, others of which were Seboth & Sabra Brimer. Tabitha was born abt. 1793. I believe that George and Tabitha were married either in Jefferson County, TN or Sevier County, TN sometime before 1835. I believe that Tabitha's brother, William Brimer, and her sister Sarah migrated from Jefferson County to Monroe County; Wm. later moving on to Bradley County. Other Brimers migrated on to Hamilton County. I know that there were Rogers that followed this same migration route and I feel that they are connected to the Brimers somehow. I have never been able to trace the trail of George Rogers and Tabitha. I would very much like to know where they settled and their descendants. Any help with this couple would be appreciated. You may reply to me directly at _Mamt1984@aol.com_ (mailto:Mamt1984@aol.com) Thanks, Marjorie

G.G. grandparents: J.C. and S.J. Brimer (Sara Jane?) from Alabama children: A. Beecham Brimer b: circa 1871 AL Richard Monroe b: circa 1871 TX Walton Wilton Lou Sara Jane Been so long since I did any work on the tree, can't remember all the dates, will have to go look. J.C. and S. J. moved from AL to Texas and settled in Rains County...area of Emory. That was where my father-in law was reared. He was from Richard Monroe "Roe" 's branch. Richard Mon"Roe" Brimer married Alice Lavada Williams (I think) in Rains County. They had: Gertrude, Claude, Duke, Rhodie, Pearson (Slats), Onie Lee (Randy's dad & my father in law). They all grew up in the Rains county area. As far as we know, Randy is the only one with MS; in his immediate family, but his sister, and a niece and a great nephew have Rheumatoid Arithritis. The great nephew is his sister's grandson; but the niece belongs to one of his brother's....so R.A. is across the family. If you want to email me off line my addy is plbrimer@swbell.net.
